surroundings and its nature in all the seasons, is to acquire a licence and canoe/kayak on the River Stour itself.
In East Bergholt village, only twenty minutes walk from Gosnalls Farm, are to be found a general store and post office, bakery,
chemist, medical practice, plus three pubs and Fountain House tea room. Also locally are a wide range of clubs and societies.
Education – independent schooling and higher education is nearby, with primary and secondary schooling to be found within the
village.
With a population fewer than 10,000 the AONB, essentially a farming area, has a significant proportion of residents easily
commuting south to Colchester, London, and Ipswich to the north.
